Winter arrived. The weather is cold and wet. These days are depressing – but it also has it’s good sides. The good sides are definitely not photography related though. Haven’t had such bad negatives in a while – so i changed my developing and switched to “winter mode” (pushing all films 1 1/2 steps in the developing process).

rather short entry again.

  1. Things just seem to slow down during the winter. This is a short post, not used to it really.
I’ve never experienced the winter, but the past month two super typhoons ravaged the Philippines and I thought I had it bad because I couldn’t go out and take photos. Over 250,000 people were displaced and many are sick and have no homes left. The weather can be such a bitch in so many ways.

    Cheers from Manila.

  9. love the old woman and how you patiently wait for her or someone to pass by.. well, you always have loads of patient, at least when you’re not in a hurry. sorry bout the winter though, no matter how you hate your “hate the tone” picture/s they always amazed me somehow.

now, if you’re not busy I’d like to ask a little something, my boss wants to buy a camera for next F1 racing, I recommend a 500D (no he can’t afford your 5D), with an EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM canon lens or a Nikon D90 with lens just ilke canon .. am I an idiot?

  11. nice stuff. Love the dude giving the peace sign , the dog in the window is great. that car is perfectly placed, i love that shot.

The only difference i can notice is maybe a slight increase in contrast for the frame you pushed, though its hard to compare different photos. Is that what u mean by better tones?

    cheers

  14. Hey,
Recently saw you featured in street photography on vimeo, i liked your photography the most out of all the photographers. I like the fact that you are using a film leica, i wish i had enough money to get the m7 or m6. Check out some of my shots http://www.flickr.com/photos/37568297@N00/
I took these with a digital camera and inverted in PS, but i recently got an enlarger so ill scan some proper prints!

    Best Regards from Aberdeen

  15. Somebody said he wished to have the winter and can’t stand the summer all year long. That’s funny how we’ll never understand our points of view…

  16. Great shots Sev… as always :) I really like the second for the deep tones and the droplets, I don’t know why but it reminds me of a feeling I used to have in the past while walking in the rain at night… I guess kind of nostalgic. And the shot with the girls on the shopping street… very cool!

    Take care!
    Thanks for sharing.
